Micro-Thermal Dynamics of Mosquito-Borne Disease Vector Habitats in Diverse Ecological Regions of Nepal

Summary of the project:
A cross-sectional study was conducted to determine the application of thermal imaging as a novel approach to characterise the temperature parameters of Aedes- and Culex-mosquitoes, habitats favoring their breeding, resting and multiplying the numbers. The study was implemented in four distinct ecological settings of Nepal where these potential vectors have previously been recorded. This study has a programmatic significance in terms of micro-mapping of the vector habitat characteristics and plan vector control related strategies.
