Summary:
This study investigated the presence of pathogenic microorganisms among waste management workers from municipal and hospital sites, focusing on the potential occupational health risks they face. Samples were collected from the eye, hand, nose, and throat of workers, and bacterial isolates were identified. Antibiotic susceptibility testing was performed. Molecular characterization included PCR-based detection of resistance genes such as erm and mecA. This highlights the public health importance of monitoring occupational exposure to microbial pathogens.
