Detection of Pathogenic Bacteria in Raw Chicken Meat Sold in Kathmandu and Lalitpur Districts

Summary of the project:
This study aimed to detect the presence of pathogenic bacteria in raw chicken meat. Microbiological analysis included determination of Total Plate Count (TPC) and Total Coliform Count (TCC), as well as isolation and identification of both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing of the isolates was also performed to assess resistance patterns. The study further emphasized the importance of hygiene, proper handling, and cold storage conditions in preventing microbial contamination of chicken meat.
