Evaluation of Antimicrobial Activities and Phytochemical Screening of Some Selected Medicinal Plants: An Alternative against Multidrug-Resistant Pathogens

Summary of the project:
This study evaluated the in vitro antimicrobial activities of 14 medicinal plants using the disc diffusion method, with extracts from methanol, ethyl acetate, hexane, petroleum ether. Antibacterial assays were performed against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC and Escherichia coli ATCC, followed by determination of minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC). The study assessed the antibacterial potential of these extracts against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial strains and observed interesting yet potential antimicrobial properties of the extracts for further exploration.
