Summary of the project:
This study aims to assess the health system’s challenges in controlling dengue outbreaks and identify strategies for improving surveillance, diagnostic capacity, and community awareness. Using a cross-sectional mixed-methods design, data was collected from health facilities, laboratory staff, community health volunteers, and local residents in dengue-prone areas through key informant interviews, focus group discussions, and vector monitoring. The expected outcomes include a comprehensive understanding of health system gaps, the development of dynamic mitigation strategies through noble approaches, strengthened diagnostic and surveillance systems, and enhanced community engagement to improve dengue control and protect vulnerable populations in Nepal.
